Our Restoration Process
What Happens When You Call TCM Restoration
We send the closest crew
We answer around the clock. Tell us what happened, from a flooded basement to a smoke-filled kitchen, and we’ll dispatch a crew from our Anchorage or Palmer office.
We stop the damage and inspect
First, we keep the damage from spreading by extracting standing water, covering broken windows and roof openings, or sealing off moldy areas. Then we trace how far the moisture or smoke traveled and walk you through the scope.
We clean it up
Depending on the job, we dry the structure, remove soot and smoke odor, or take out the mold. Damaged materials that can’t be saved come out, and the rest are cleaned before any rebuilding starts.
We rebuild your property
If insurance is involved, your project manager sends your adjuster the photos and repair estimate before repairs begin. Then we repair everything from drywall to roofing, and we bring back your cleaned belongings and walk through the finished work with you, so you can move back in or reopen.

Restoration FAQs
Anchorage and Mat-Su Water, Fire, and Mold Restoration FAQs
How fast can you get to my property?
In Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla, and Palmer, a crew is typically on site in about 60 minutes, day or night. Outlying areas such as Big Lake, Sutton, and Girdwood take longer depending on road conditions, so we give you an honest arrival time when you call.
Should I call my insurance company or you first?
You can call both right away. If water is still spreading or the building is open to the weather, call us first so we can stop the damage, then report the claim to your insurer. Your policy expects you to prevent further damage, so emergency work can start immediately, while permanent repairs wait for the adjuster. We photograph and record the damage before anything is removed, so your claim has what it needs.
Can my family stay in our home while you work?
Often, yes. During most water jobs, you can stay in the unaffected rooms while we dry the rest. A large fire, a sewage backup, or work that means shutting off the heat in winter can make it safer to stay somewhere else for a while. Many homeowners policies include loss-of-use coverage for temporary housing when the damage is covered, and we’ll tell you up front what to expect.
Can wet walls and floors be saved after a frozen pipe bursts?
Yes, if drying starts quickly. Drywall that hasn’t swollen or come apart at the seams can be dried in place, and carpet can often be lifted and dried along with its pad. Anything that stayed wet too long or soaked up dirty water has to be removed. That’s why we extract the water and set up drying equipment as soon as we arrive.
Will the smoke smell ever go away?
Yes. Smoke odor lingers because soot works into walls, insulation, ductwork, and fabrics, so we remove it at the source instead of covering it up. We clean every affected surface, take out materials too saturated to clean, and deodorize the structure and your belongings with methods like thermal fogging, so the smell is gone when you move back in.
Do I need a mold test before you remove the mold?
Usually not. If you can see mold, a test won’t change how it needs to be removed, so we go straight to finding how far it has spread and the moisture feeding it. Testing helps when you smell mold but can’t find it, and our inspections use air samples, surface swabs, and moisture meters to track down where it’s growing.
